(Flint, Michigan) Flint's Bishop International Airport (FNT) is pleased to announce the opening of our free "Cell Phone Waiting Lot". This parking lot is located on the South side of Bristol Road just to the West of the terminal building. There are well-located signs posted to direct Bishop Airport "meeters and greeters" to the area.
Airport Director, Jim Rice, "We really strive to make our facility as convenient as possible, not only for the million passengers flying in and out of Flint each year, but for the individuals who come to our airport to pick-up their family and friends. Now, all these individuals will need to do is follow the signs to the free 'Cell Phone Waiting Lot' and have the passenger they are picking up give them a call when they have retrieved their luggage. Then simply drive a few hundred feet from the lot to the baggage claim area, pull up to the curb and they will quickly be on their way."
The Cell Phone Waiting Lot is intended for vehicles waiting on arriving passengers only. As such, no unattended vehicles will be allowed in the area.
Bishop International Airport (FNT) is "The smart way to fly", and has been predicted to be the second fastest growing airport in the nation from 2000 to 2010, according to a recent study by Michael J. Boyd of The Boyd Group. Flint also offers the lowest average airfares in the state. Currently, the facility is served by AirTran Airways, with nonstop jet service to Tampa, Orlando and Atlanta; American Eagle with jet service to Chicago-O'Hare; Continental Connection, with Cleveland service; Delta Connection, with jet flights to Atlanta; Midwest Connect, featuring nonstop service to Milwaukee; Northwest Airlines, with nonstop flights to Minneapolis, Orlando, Tampa, Las Vegas and Detroit, and by Funjet Vacations.
