Deadline extension due to Covid-19
There is a new form of identification you will soon need to present when traveling domestically. The deadline of Oct. 1, 2020 has been extended. The new deadline is May 7, 2025. The new identification will require residents to present a Real ID-compliant document to fly in the U.S. and enter certain federal facilities under federal law. You can get a Real ID-compliant driver's license or state ID from the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office.
