FNT Visitor Pass Program

Description of the Program

The FNT Visitor Pass Program is a fully automated program for non-ticketed individuals, over 18 years old, to access through the TSA Security Screening Checkpoint to meet arriving travelers at their gate, enjoy extra time with travelers before departure, explore our shopping and dining options, or just watch planes come and go. Individuals under 18 years old are also welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult 18 years and older.

How to obtain an FNT Visitor Pass

Step 1: Apply Online

You can apply the day of your visit or up to seven days in advance. If you cannot select a date on the online form, that means the visitor pass is not available for that particular day.

Provide your date of birth, gender, and full legal name exactly as it appears on your TSA-approved photo ID (e.g., passport or driver’s license). You will receive a confirmation email verifying that your request has been received.

REAL ID: Beginning May 7, 2025, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license, make sure it is REAL ID-compliant. If you are unsure whether your ID complies with REAL ID, check with your state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Step 2: Get Approval From TSA

  • Your request will be reviewed by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Applying in advance: You will receive an email with your approval status after midnight on the day of your visit.
  • Applying for same-day entrance: You will receive an email with your approval status in approximately 15 minutes.

Step 3: Show off your FNT Visitor Pass

If approved for entry, you will receive your FNT Visitor Pass attached to your approval notification e-mail. When entering the TSA Checkpoint, use the general screening line, you may not use a Precheck lane. Have your TSA-approved photo ID and the FNT Visitor Pass attachment ready to provide to the TSA. Make sure to advise the TSA Officer that you have an FNT Visitor Pass when presenting your photo ID. All access is subject to TSA approval. If denied by TSA you may not enter the area.

FNT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel the program, cancel approved FNT Visitor Passes, or modify program rules at any time without prior notice.

What Travelers are Saying!

Fly Here! After years of flying in and out of DTW, today I tried FNT. Wow! The airport is very, very clean, with amazingly friendly staff throughout the airport. Easy to navigate, with far less walking than DTW, and no need for shuttles!! Rent from National Rental Car, walk right out the door to your rental car. Cool old car display!
